Energy Assessment

Energy Assessment

Property Partners is an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), fully approved to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPC). We carry out assessments and look after regulations compliance requirements on behalf of a wide range of clients including landlords, developers, fellow letting agents, solicitors and homeowners.

All domestic and commercial properties that are built, sold or rented out to a new tenant must have a valid EPC. This became a statutory requirement in Scotland in 2009 and EPCs are valid for 10 years from their issue.

The EPC gauges a building’s energy efficiency, giving it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). This can then be used to calculate approximate heating and lighting costs and the likely carbon dioxide emissions of a building.

The EPC also advises how the energy-efficiency rating could be improved and highlights some of the ways this can be achieved.

Property Partners can provide more detailed advice on these potential improvement measures, a service that will assist property owners who would like to reduce their energy consumption and costs. This service is particularly beneficial for landlords who want to make sure they will comply with anticipated legislation which will require landlords to ensure their properties meet minimum EPC ratings.

Our partners can also support you with new build residential SAP EPC calculations and SBEM calculations for new build and existing commercial EPCs.
