Energy Efficiency

Property Partners is an accredited Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA), fully approved to provide Energy Performance Certificates (EPC). We carry out assessments and look after regulations compliance requirements on behalf of a wide range of clients including business owners, landlords, developers, letting agents, solicitors and homeowners.

All domestic and commercial properties that are built, sold or rented out to a new tenant must have a valid EPC. This became a statutory requirement in Scotland in 2009 and EPCs are valid for 10 years from their issue.

The EPC gauges a building’s energy efficiency, giving it a rating from A (very efficient) to G (inefficient). This can then be used to calculate approximate heating and lighting costs and the likely carbon dioxide emissions of a building.

The EPC also advises how the energy-efficiency rating could be improved and highlights some of the ways this can be achieved.

Over time Property Partners have specialised in providing more detailed advice on these potential improvement measures, a service that will assist property owners who would like to reduce their energy consumption and costs. Which often leads on to our project management services or form part of a wider residential or commercial project.

A key part of any energy efficiency measure or design is to consider how sustainable the measure or products are. From the lifespan of a heating system to the type of insulation or materials used in the project. There are now many insulation options available, including natural products that are constantly evolving and improving. Property Partners take a keen interest in these developments so we can best support our clients to make a choice that best fits their values and budget.

Our partners can also support you with new build residential SAP EPC calculations and SBEM calculations for new build and existing commercial EPCs.
